Terms of use

Last updated: 30 October 2026

These terms apply to your use of Lawfindo (the "website"), which is operated by Lawfindo. By using the website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

1. What the website does

The website is a directory of law firms in the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe, built from the Solicitors Regulation Authority register and open business data, together with general information guides about legal topics. We are not a law firm, we do not provide legal advice, and we do not recommend or endorse any firm. Using the website does not create a lawyer-client relationship with us or with any firm listed.

2. Accuracy of information

We take reasonable care to keep information accurate and up to date, but firm details come from third-party sources and can change. We do not guarantee that information on the website is complete, accurate or current. Before you instruct a firm, confirm its details and the lawyer's licence directly with the firm and the official regulator (such as a US state bar, the SRA or a national bar). Read our full legal disclaimer.

3. Your dealings with law firms

Any agreement you make with a law firm you find through the website is between you and that firm. We are not responsible for the services, advice, fees or conduct of any firm.

4. Acceptable use

You must not:

5. Intellectual property

The website's design, text, guides and the way the directory is compiled and presented are owned by us or our licensors. You may view and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. Firm data is derived from the SRA register and Overture Maps (CDLA Permissive 2.0); location data from GeoNames (CC BY 4.0) and postcodes.io, which contains Ordnance Survey and ONS data © Crown copyright and database right.

6. Links to other websites

The website links to third-party websites, including law firms' own websites and official sources. We are not responsible for their content or availability.

7. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the website or its content, including any decision to instruct or not instruct a firm. The website is provided free of charge and "as is".

8. Changes

We may update these terms and change or withdraw the website at any time. The date above shows when these terms were last updated.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms removes protections you have under the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
